Rodex® 4000 Plus, vs. Rodex® 5000 and 6000 All of the gas and propane units on the market today are required to have a device that prevents the gasses and subsequent flames from traveling back up the barrel. Flash arrestors, detonation arrestors, and back-flow valves are used to insure this very important safety feature. We at Rodex use only the very best there is on the market. The Rodex 4000 Plus was designed primarily for the small to mid-size land owner. The flow-rate is slightly less on the 4000 model, than the 5000 & 6000 models. Most of the cost saving difference is purely cosmetic. The 4000 could potentially need some additional minor maintenance if not properly used or cared for. The Rodex 5000 plus has a higher gas flow-rate than the 4000. Because of the higher flow-rate, a ball valve is positioned in front of the flash arrestor. The valve is open to allow gas flow, and then closed for ignition. This process of protecting the flash arrestor and back-flow valve, when properly used, will give you and your unit years of trouble-free service. The Rodex 6000 is made very similarly to the 5000. The primary difference is its detonation arrestor that does not need to be protected when using the proper mix of gas, and should therefore provide a lifetime of trouble-free service. This unit is also equipped with a six foot remote firing cord, which can also be easily removed when not in use. All three of the Rodex models come with the same high quality accessories: Victor Torch Handle, Parker Hose, Harris Gages, and the Hard Hat with Face Shield and Ear Muffs. | |
